Tips For Parents

Take an active role in the education of your child(ren)

Teach your child study methods that work

Email and/or call your child's teacher at least once a month

Make surprise visits to school when your schedule permits

Encourage your children to play sports and participate in activities

If your child struggles in class ask the school to help find a tutor

Celebrate academic success

Establish schedule for TV and video games during the week

Set curfews for texting, internet and phone conversation

Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep on school nights

Children should eat breakfast every morning because they need energy

Check homework every night, even for high school students

High School students need their parents more than younger children, though they will not admit it

Monitor who your child hangs out with & get to know their parents
